Pyhäjoki Upper Secondary School has an entrepreneurial profile though the curriculum of the school is typical for a Finnish Upper Secondary school. There are only 100 students in Pyhäjoki Upper Secondary school – but the school has a big and active role in the local community as our students have since 1988 published the weekly newspaper for 1800 local homes. Writing of the articles, designing the advertisements and producing the layout is part of the school curriculum. Another big project that our students do annually is the local Autumn Fair – the local main event in September with 1500 visitors and around 100 companies. For us, these are some of the tools we use for our entrepreneurship education as we prepare our students for their oncoming challenges: matriculation exam, university, career – with outstanding results! Pyhäjoen lukio has been an active partner in several European Comenius and Erasmus projects.
